What This Test Measures

Fasting blood glucose reflects current blood sugar status and insulin sensitivity. Levels between 100-125 mg/dL indicate prediabetes, while 126+ indicates diabetes. TRT generally improves insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism, particularly in men with metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes.

Studies show that testosterone replacement can reduce fasting glucose and HbA1c in hypogonadal men with insulin resistance.

Why This Matters for TRT

TRT often improves glucose metabolism. Baseline testing identifies insulin resistance that may be driving low testosterone. Monitor improvement as a marker of metabolic health.
